Gucci Reps it's Roots

This June sees the launch of Gucci’s 1921 Collection, marking the fashion house’s 90 years in existence.
Inspired by the aesthetic of English nobility that he witnessed whilst working at the Savoy in London, Guccio Gucci opened a leather goods company and a small luggage store in his hometown, Florence, in 1921. Ninety years on, Gucci is a superbrand, boasting around 278 stores worldwide.
Gucci will be celebrating this milestone in several ways throughout the year but first it’s going back to its roots. “With this special commemorative collection I wanted to pay homage to the icons, craftsmanship and luxury materials for which the House has become renowned” says creative director Frida Giannini.
The collection will be comprised of bags, belts, wallets, shoes and boots, all carrying the new trademark ‘G. Gucci, Firenze 1921’, and available in up to three colour codes – bottle green, cherry and khaki – and beautifully treated leathers, including crocodile and calfskin. Heritage luxury at its best.
1921 Collection is available in Gucci boutiques and gucci.com from June
